Uplands Residence Conservatory

The existing English Arts & Crafts residence, located in the Uplands neighbourhood of Oak Bay and built in 1928, was designed by architect Percy Leonard James. As well as interior renovations to create a new kitchen and master bedroom ensuite and dressing room, the project involved removal and rebuilding of an unsympathetic 1960s era kitchen addition. The new addition serves as a breakfast room and is conceived as a traditional glazed conservatory overlooking the private terraced garden. A built-in barbeque on the north side is also included.
